The Small Animal Rescue Society of BC or SARS BC is a
provincially & federally registered non-profit organization (Our
charity number is 86169 0436 RR0001) comprised of volunteers and
services throughout British Columbia/Canada.
Everyone one with SARS BC is a volunteer and no one is
paid to work with the animals. Our primary focus is to rescue and
rehome any small animal in need. Neglected, injured and abandoned
animals are our primary focus.
Unfortunately due to the sheer number of unwanted small
animals we can only consider taking in "owner surrendered" animals if
we have a foster home available. We will however help
owners to rehome thier animals in every way possible.
We are a virtual rescue - meaning that we do not have a
physical shelter at this point. Instead, we rely on a network of
volunteer foster
parents that take care of the animals in their homes. That way the
animals get a lot of one on one attention and the special care they all
deserve.
SARS BC was founded in October 2004 and we have since
found over 900 forever homes for small animals in need and we
currently have many more in rescue who are patiently waiting for their
turn to find a wonderful new home.
