Alf

Alf is a very sweet and mild mannered little bunny with a sad past. Thankfully the insanity has stopped for him and he is now loved and looking for a new forever home - which he truly deserves.

A few months ago, SARS was contacted by a family regarding a little rabbit they were caring for and felt that they couldn't properly care for. Their daughter was the one who took Alf in and for that we thank her.

The young girl had been volunteering at a local pet store in one of the local malls. One day a man came into the store with a little grey bunny. He said he bought it from them and that he no longer wanted it. The store told him that they had no room for it and they would not take it back. The man was not very happy with this answer and when the store managers back was turned, the man dumped Alf on the floor and ran. They ran after him but he ran into the parking lot and got away.

So there he was, dumped and unwanted. The store didn't want him as he was no longer saleable as he was no longer a baby. No one wanted him - thankfully the young girl was still there and she had offered to take Alf home.

Once she got home however, she realized that she was not prepared to keep a bunny. Sadly the only thing they had to keep Alf in was a hamster cage - yes that's right, a hamster cage.

The people were well meaning and did not do this out of cruelty. They called a local animal shelter who then gave him our number to call. When we spoke to the man you could sense an urgency in his voice. He was worried that they had this bunny and their cage was too small and that they were not being fair to the bunny. When we were told Alf was being kept in a hamster cage we were shocked but it wasn't until we actually saw him in it that the reality of the situation hit home. It was *TINY* and he couldn't move in it.

Alf has now been in rescue for a long time, he's a wonderful little guy who would love to find his forever home - Maybe with you?
