Erin

At the beginning of July 2006 we received a call from a concerned citizen. The day before he took his dogs for a walk around Kerrisdale when his dogs seemed a bit too interested in a box. Upon further inspection he discovered two very scared little rats in the box. At that time he figured somebody must have dropped them or left them their while running some errands so he kept on walking.

On their evening walk, he came across the same box again. The rats were still inside. At this point he knew that they were abandoned. Even though he's not a rat lover, he knew he couldn't just leave them there and so he took them home with him. He phoned the SPCA who told him to give us a call instead.

The next day we went and picked up Erin and her sister Colleen. Both girls were in bad shape and had several injuries. Unfortunately Colleen's injuries were too severe and she didn't make it but luckily Erin survived. After being in rescue for 6 months she finally found a wonderful forever home and now lives with a little hairless rat named Sahara.
