The Frenchies

This is the story of Orca, Cinna Bun and Honey Bun, three stunning female French Lops.

The three girls were literally saved minutes away from being sent to the meat market. When the people who went to look at the rabbits arrived, they were in a shoe boxed size meat cage on the ground underneath the other rabbit cages. When asked why they were in these tiny cages, they were told that they were going to be sold for meat. The people who visited were shocked and immediately decided to take them home and bought them for the *meat price* of $15 and took them home with them.

Prior to that the three girls and many other rabbits just like them that the breeder owned, had to endure months of abuse... They were hit and they were kept in tiny wire bottom cages with the wires so far apart that their babies would fall through and the bunnies got sores on their feet.

After the three girls arrived in our rescue, they would sit in a corner with the back towards you for many weeks because they were so terrified. Every time we moved they would flinch, expecting to get hit. It was absolutely heartbreaking to see these girls. It took us around two months until we were able to pet them without them freaking out and running away.

Then the miracle happened - A wonderful couple from Surrey fell in love with Cinna Bun and Honey Bun, the mother/daughter pair. They were touched by their horrible story and wanted to give them a home.

A few months later we featured Cinna Bun, Honey Bun and Orca in our first annual Christmas calendar and that's when they decided that they'd also like to welcome Orca into their home as well who was still waiting for her forever home. The girls are once again united but this time in the best forever home! The girls have since made tremendous progress, they finally feel safe and loved. They come running towards you, begging for treats and they even give kisses!
